Reading Simple Chord Charts<< Back to FREE Lessons The Secrets of Successful PractisingBefore taking this lesson, take a look at Kevin's book on "The Secrets of Successful Practising" by clicking here...................................... To be a literate musician one needs to be able to read and write music. It is very easy if you approach it the right way, but many guitarists believe that reading music (the writing comes later) is extremely difficult. I agree that seeing a sea of music notation on a page looks intimidating, and beginning with simple chord charts is the best way to begin the process of learning to read. The main benefit will be that you will immediately improve your ability to communicate musically in all areas of the craft......You can download the full lesson (pdf file - for your own personal use) from here. You can also hear the music example here. I hope you enjoy the lesson. Kevin. Please Note: to view the text you will need to have the Adobe Reader Plugin which you can download from here. |
