Bruce Forman - Tuck & Patty Concerts    Wednesday 10th of April 2002

I have the pleasure of inviting you to a musical educational opportunity not to be missed. Two American guitarists Bruce Forman and Tuck Andress along with his singer/wife will perform in concert as part of the Manawatu Jazz and Blues Festival. Although these two guys are well known in the USA, they are almost unheard of out here, but I can tell you they are very classy acts that are NOT to be missed.

Guitarist, Bruce Forman has recorded or played with just about every big name in jazz and has many albums out under his own name. He is also a top educator, having written two books and produced a video. He is also the Guitar Chair for the Jazz Educators Association. Bruce will be performing on Tuesday May 28th at The Globe Theatre 8pm. His workshop will be at The Regent on Broadway Sunday morning 10am June 2nd. Bassists will get an opportunity to hear Paul Dyne, NZ¡¦s premier jazz bassist in action. Paul has played with many top names and is head of the Massey University Jazz School. He is also presenting a seminar at the Regent on Broadway, Sunday morning June 2nd 10 am.

Tuck and Patty are an incredible duo. I can assure you that you will not have seen or heard anything like this before in your life. The best way to describe these two is ¡§what planet have they just come from¡¨. They play a lot of different styles, and will have you riveted to your seats, I promise. They are playing The Regent on June 2nd at 8pm. The last time they were in NZ they sold out everywhere they went and this time we are expecting the same. They are the opening act for the Grand Finale Concert, which also features another great guitarist and bassist from the band The Four Freshman.

This is an opportunity that should NOT be missed. If you are thinking that you are at a too low a level to attend these concerts and seminar - you are not. You will learn a lot just by watching and listening. All your family will love these concerts and I suggest you bring them all along to.

I have negotiated with the promoter for 80 concert tickets at a hefty discount of which you can only buy from your teacher. They are sold on a ¡§first in, first served¡¨ basis. Our last concert and seminar was sold out, so reserve your place NOW.

Also worth a mention is the Blues concert on Friday May31st with Midge Marsden and Bullfrog Rata. I highly recommend you attend these concerts and seminar. It is not very often that we get to study with and hear musicians off this calibre.
