Thank you for your kind comment Zac: “To Dawn Mckenzie. I’m glad to share like-minded conversations before rehearsals about good books to read, setting goals and thinking rich. ” It sure is great to share our like-minded conversations. I often come away from Lab Band rehearsals with some interesting ideas to explore. I’m beginning to realise that thinking rich means living rich! Like you, I find it is a privilege and a joy to be in the band. In 2018 I am looking forward to catching up with Bruce Forman and Larry Koonse. May everyone have a wonderful holiday.

You are welcome Zack. Glad you have enjoyed the experience – next year is going to blow you away with Bruce Forman and Larry Koonse playing with us. 🙂

However, in saying those things above, you have EARNED the right to be in the Lab band. You have also EARNED the right to be working with Jason. You have earned it because not only are you a great guy, but above all you have showed loyalty, honesty, and work ethic. Those four things are missing in many people today. At our school we reward those behaviours, at most other schools you get punished for it in various ways that are not really noticeable. 🙂

I hope you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year to and will see you in the New Year if not before. 🙂

As most of you know, I shared with you my experience as a newcomer to the Lab Band a few months back. Now as we approach the end of the year and have concluded our final rehearsal for 2017 with a bang, I would first like to say thank you to all of you. It’s been a privilege getting to know more of you in and out of the band and how committed we all are.

A special thanks to Ivor Smith for getting the both of us up to Palmy and back to Wellington while listening to some awesome blues tracks and sharing a handful of jokes along the way. Laugh

To my mentor, Jason Just for bringing me in as his student and encouraging all of us to practice diligently, think big and motivating us to becoming a member of the Lab Band and sharing our craft with the world. 🙂

To Dawn Mckenzie. I’m glad to share like-minded conversations before rehearsals about good books to read, setting goals and thinking rich. 🙂

To Brenda Pinfold. Always recommending me a Gibson ES-339 and other fantastic guitar models so I to can diagnose myself with GAS (Guitar. Acquisition. Syndrome). Laugh

To Mark Dobson for letting me borrow his Fender Blues Junior Amp for the concert. I just loved the sound of it that I ended up buying one. Cheers. Laugh

To Caley and Sam. Knowing that anyone of any age can join the Lab Band. 🙂

A HUGE well done for everybody’s contribution and their energy. Even if you’re not a member of the band, you people are some of the many that keeps all of us rockin’ and rollin’, and I encourage you to keep practicing your instrument, watch our concerts and have fun while doing it so you to may also join us in the future. 🙂

Finally, a very special thanks to Kevin Downing. For forming and building this incredible school and community of musicians who can get together, share their craft with others, help each other to become better, build networks and reminding us to have PATIENCE, PERSISTENCE and to PRACTICE to reach our potentials. More importantly, to HAVE FUN. 🙂

We certainly can’t wait for next year’s rehearsals and concerts. Jason and I will be sure to get our students from the Wellington School to come and watch or even encouraging them to become a member of the band.

Cheers everyone. Have an AWESOME CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Zach Reyes. Laugh
